Description
Made in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Huana (wa-nah) liqueur is flavored with Guanabana (aka soursop) fruits that resemble spiky green pears and have white flesh. The fruit is said to taste like a cross between strawberries and pineapple. This rum-based fruit liqueur is bottled at 30% ABV. Huana Mayan Guanabana Rum Liqueur is made in Mexico using the Guanabana fruit (which is sometimes known as the Soursop). This interesting fruit is said to taste somewhat like a mix between a strawberry and a pineapple, with a touch of coconut creaminess. Sounds pretty delicious, right? How about a liqueur made with said fruit and rum, too? Yep, still sounds pretty darn delicious. Nose: Initially quite aggressive on the nose, but a couple of minutes in the glass chills Huana out and reveals pleasant aroma reminiscent of almost overly ripe pear. Palate: On the palate, the pear flavor comes through, but pineapple flavor are also prominent. Of course, it’s hard to mistake the underlying rum flavor. Finish: A slight but lingering bitter aftertaste. Bottle Size: 750mL ABV: 30%
