Considered a "best whiskey" for the price, Orphan Barrel Forged Oak 15 Year is a statuesque whiskey with aromas of cedar, maple and vanilla bean that give way to seasoned woody notes of cocoa and young berries, ultimately leading to a long, dry finish of black pepper. Comparable to no other whiskies.
Nose: A bright nose that is filled with caramel, vanilla, and honey notes. Staying nice and light, the nose picks up leather and toasted oak as they mix well with the other aromas.
Palate:The sweetness of the nose complimented by cedar, and smoke. There is wonderful minor hints of maple and dark cherries.
Finish:Peppery rye spice on the finish. An amazing rush of flavor after a few seconds that lingers in the most delicious way.
