Product Overview

Launched in 2019, Grand Marnier Cuvee Louis-Alexandre Liqueur is an homage to Grand Marnier liqueur's creator, Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle. This is an exceptional Cuvée, blending together the prestigious VSOP cognac of rich character and complexity with bitter orange liqueur. Bottled at 80 proof, the ratio is 82% cognac and 18% orange liqueur. The result is a fine spirit of warm amber color, greeting with aromas of candied peel and bergamot that develop into intense flavors of cognac and macerated citrus, pine, and Earl Grey tea on the palate. Enjoy neat or on the rocks.

Warm amber hue. The nose greets with aromas of candied peel and bergamot that develop into intense flavors of cognac and macerated citrus, pine, and Earl Grey tea on the palate. The finish is smooth and complex.

An iconic French brand of premium liqueur, Grand Marnier boasts a rich history, dating back to 1827 when the first distillery was built by Jean Baptiste Lapostolle in the little town of Neauphle-le-Château. In 1876, Lapostolle's granddaughter Jean married Louis-Alexandre Marnier and four years later, the famous orange-flavored Cordon Rouge – still synonymous with the brand until this day – was released. Marnier was a pioneer and innovator, disrupting the scene by blending fine cognac with rare, bitter orange liqueur. The story goes that the name “Grand Marnier” was actually César Ritz’ idea. To return the favor, Marnier-Lapostolle helped him purchase the Hotel Ritz Paris where Grand Marnier was served during the years of La Belle Epoque. In 2016, the Campari Group took over Grand Marnier.
