Ron Cihuátan was an ancient Mayan city that was granted riches and fertility by a goddess who took the form of a nearby mountain to watch over the sugar cane fields. The name itself is a reference to this legend and translates to "the land beside the sleeping woman". That's quite a backstory! Dedicated to sustainability, Master Blender Gabriela Ayala crafts delicious Spirits, each expression paying tribute to a different Mayan god.

Ron Cihuátan Cinabrio is a 12-year-old Rum that was aged in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels right there in the beautiful Cihuátan valley, then bottled at 80 proof. It celebrates the Mayan god of the sun Kinich Ahau who was traditionally celebrated with the color red, extracted from cinnabar (cinabrio) ― hence the name and the red color scheme of the packaging. The Spirit inside is a proper rich one as well, with notes of fruit, nuts, and orange zest aplenty. God G be praised!

It's a rich rum with notes of plum, pistachio, burnt orange peel, sugar cane juice, and starfruit. The creamy palate leads to a smooth finish with a touch of sweetness and oak.
