Focusing on artisanal Mexican spirits, Mezcal de Leyendas seeks out terroir mezcal from various unique regions. The Espadin Oaxaca showcases the work of Maestro Mezcalero Saul Martinez and his deliciously bright traditional spirit.
Herbal aromas of lemongrass and rue greet the bright nose with an underlying sweetness, reminiscent of sugar cane syrup. There are citrus and cooked agave notes on the palate, along with herbaceous notes.
Maestro Mezcalero Saul Martinez hails from the valleys of Oaxaca. San Juan del Río is a small Mexican village with a rich history of mezcal production and it's there that Martinez has been practicing the craft for more than 3 decades, extracting the precious juice from estate-grown espadin agaves and distilling the spirit using traditional methods.
