Grab a bottle of Mata Hari today and be sure to see some of the excellent cocktails that can be made with the first and only Bohemian absinthe available in the United States, or enjoy it in the traditional ritual.
Mata Hari Bohemian absinthe is a modern take on the ancient and notorious recipe. The "bohemian" style is said to be a specifically Austrian recipe dating back to 1881. Unlike the heavy anise-flavored (dominant black licorice) French version, this is meant to be much less heavily flavored and eminently more mixable in cocktails.
Nose: Grassy and floral with violet blossom. Fennel, coriander and aniseed. With water: anise, fennel and coriander. Still grassy but floral aromas are more subdued. Clean and fresh.
Palate: Dry and slightly on the bitter side. Woody herbal wormwood notes are freshened and lifted by coriander and aniseed.
Finish: Long, slightly bitter, woody herbal finish.
