Product Overview

The Deanston 20 Year Old is a new limited edition single malt from the Deanston distillery. The entirety of its maturation was spent in Oloroso sherry casks, and it was bottled at cask strength (55.3% ABV) with no chillfiltration or added colouring. This single malt whisky is, of course, made true to their philosophy of using no modern technology and only the best, Scottish ingredients.

This limited edition expression, which is now available, has been bottled at cask strength and without the use of chill-filtration after maturing for 20-years at the Perthshire distillery in ex-Oloroso sherry casks.

The taste profile is said to include hints of Oloroso sherry mixed with warming gingerbread and nutmeg, making it an ideal malt for the festive season.

Distinguished by its beautifully balanced sweet and creamy nose and rich, spicy palate, the packaging of this limited bottling embodies Deanston's traditional look and feel, and is reminiscent of the earthy colors of the Oloroso casks which housed this copper gold malt for two decades.

"True to the heritage of Deanston Distillery, which is rooted in community values, the Oloroso 20 Year Old has been crafted with the utmost care and dedication," said Alison Gibb, Global Marketing Manager at Burn Stewart Distillers.

"The rich, creamy, spicy influences imparted by the wood from the ex-Oloroso sherry casks give this malt a truly special character and we're excited to announce its release in time for the festive season when it can be enjoyed with friends and family."

Owned by Burn Stewart Distillers, owners of other single malt brands such as Bunnahabhain, Ledaig and Tobermory, former cotton mill Deanston Distillery has been producing handcrafted, natural color Highland single malt whisky on the banks of the River Teith since 1966. The meter-thick stone walls of the distillery's warehouse help to create the perfect conditions to ensure a smooth, even maturation year round.
