Agave De Cortes Reposados Mezcal is traditional pit-roasted, mule-drawn tahona-crushed, open fermented, double-distilled mezcal from 100% Estate-Grown Agave Espad??n, then matured for over 6 months in American white oak barrels and presented at 43% ABV. Carmel and creme brulee on the nose with cocoa powder and white fruit. Rich dry smoke, butterscotch and brown spice, with a long, spicy finish.
Rested for 2-11 months in 2nd fill Bourbon barrels (Charred, American Oak) and 2nd fill Chardonnay barrels (Toasted French Oak).
The short window of oak aging brings out a smoky richness, with flavors of caramel, crème brulée, and dusty cocoa. The fresh, fruity agave is prominent with tropical flavors of banana and mango. Baking spices and pepper abound in the long, dry finish.
